How to reveal if your suffering from a self doubt disorder?

The only way to accomplish something in life is to take action toward that goal. But if you have suffered from self-doubt, you can unwittingly sabotage your efforts

You can observe this happening every day

Notice some people who seem to be very knowledgeable and skilled in their field, yet their performance and output consistently fall short of their potential and abilities. Their execution doesn’t seem to agree with their potential. This is because they have self-doubt, which allows them todo less than they are capable of.

The relationship between stress, anxiety, self-confidence, and performance continues to attract much attention from researchers, especially psychologists.

“These findings point out the importance of this interaction and the necessity of use of some stress management techniques which can not only reduce stress, but also improve self-esteem” -Researchgate.com

Among the least disputed of these relationships is the negative association between self-doubt and productivity. The support for this negative relationship is strong both theoretically and empirically. Various studies on the self-confidence — performance relationship show that the mean effect size is larger than that revealed for cognitive anxiety. The vast majority of studies report a negative correlation between self-doubt and productivity.

People who have self-doubt do not believe that they are capable or worthy of excellent results, even though their skill and knowledge may be more than adequate — and indeed, anyone who makes an effort deserves to succeed.

Psychologists have also predicted a positive relationship between self-efficacy and performance by drawing on different key sources of self-efficacy that are thought to impact performance via thoughts and behaviors.

These people do not believe they are worthy of excellent results, so they unconsciously dumb down their work to not stand out, be noticed, or outperform their peers.

In the workplace, self-doubt can cause many problems. If a person has a poor perception of their abilities and competence or feels that they don’t deserve success, then they are in actual programming themselves for failure or, at best, low productivity. Their efforts and their results will then never measure up to their potential.

According to the psychologist, there’s an essential relationship between self-doubt in capability and self-doubt in worthiness.

“People who believe they are competent but not worthy may tend to become boastful. People who think they are righteous but incompetent may tend to blame everyone and everything for their low productivity except themselves.”

In both cases, nobody will take these people seriously after a while. You raise your belief in your competency and your confidence in your worth, by controlling the self-doubt that’s surrounding your productivity, so that you can excel in career and become more productive in any endeavor.

Sustainable change in habits and thought patterns will have a significant impact as they become your healthy way of living and operating. This improved attitude will increase your productivity, bit by bit. You may not see massive results right away, but a sustainable positive change like this lasts forever, as they give yourself a person a chance to develop positive neural pathways, and it tends to build momentum.

“Your mind will take the shape of what you frequently hold in thought, for the human spirit is colored by such impressions.” -Marcus Aurelius
